This is not a political commentary. It is simply our view of what we consider will happen in the Surrey property market now that the election is over.
We anticipate a swell in general activity as the brakes come off for many who have held back from moving this spring until the election was over, irrespective of who might have won. Those of you who know Joe Dewar, Branch Manager at Burns & Webber Guildford, will know that he loves to exercise, but in general it's to justify the hearty meal that follows! Running a Marathon, it's fair to say, is a different level.

With Government approval the insurance industry has set up and will manage the not-for-profit scheme that is designed to support domestic properties in... read more

The beautiful, quintessentially 'British' Victorian terraced cottages, seen all over the UK, are always a popular choice with homebuyers. This is especially true in Guildford town centre, where we have seen values rising steadily over the years. A cottage once purchased for around £250,000 in 2003 could now be worth up to £550,000 or more depending on size, location, layout and decoration.
Living in the heart of Guildford is always a popular choice, with the huge range of excellent facilities on the doorstep - fast transport links by road or rail to London for those who commute, lovely parks, schools and shopping facilities. It's a beautiful, fun and convenient place to call... read more
