The success of our business relies on employing staff who are at the top of their game. At every level, we strive to field a team that our clients will find approachable, friendly and easy to work with. In an industry sector where a high turnover of staff isn’t unusual, we are proud to have an exceptional record for retaining our employees. Our staff have found little appeal in moving on, preferring to remain within the Burns & Webber and Curchods family - over 40% of our staff have been with us for more than 5 years whilst 20% have been employed by the company for more than 10 years, of which some 15 individuals have been with us over 20 years.

Andrew Dewar
Joint Senior Partner

Founder and Joint Senior Partner Andrew Dewar has spent more than 40 years as a professional in the Surrey property market and has been instrumental in creating the company we are today. Andrew’s career has seen him help thousands of people move home and his innate human understanding has enabled him to create and shape the outstanding customer experience we provide. Andrew’s passion for recruiting, training and retaining the very best people means he is still as active in the business today as he was on day one but is now focused on staff training and development.


 

John Slatter
Joint Senior Partner

Chairman and Joint Senior Partner John Slatter has been respected in the property industry for over 45 years. Although today, the day-to-day business is vested in the hands of our Managing Director and some 200 staff, John’s appetite for the business never to wanes and he is always available to help and advise across the whole spectrum of residential property matters – we just can’t keep him away!


 


Michael Ansell
Group Managing Director

Michael has worked in the property sector for over 35 years, progressing to senior management while in his 20s. He has a thorough understanding of the business and remains passionate about the industry.

Having joined the company in 2016, attracted by the quality brand and the opportunity to work alongside a highly skilled team of property and mortgage professionals, Michael works closely with the founding partners, sharing their values and aspiring to the high levels of customer service on which the company has developed.

 

 


 


Dan Dewar
Area Manager Residential Sales

Dan is very proud to have worked his way up through the company, having started as a Trainee Negotiator in the 1990’s. A move to senior management at a group level has meant that Dan is able to implement some of the best practice he developed running the Farnham Branch on a wider scale and help the already successful offices within his region continue to grow and outperform the competition.

 

 


 

 


Lee Murphy
Area Manager Residential Sales

Lee joined the company in 2004 spending some seven years managing our successful Curchods Woking office before being appointed as Area Manager. Lee works closely with the senior management team developing and implementing the business’s growth strategy.

 

 


 


Carolyn Jones
HR Manager

Carolyn joined the company in early 2017. Having worked for many years in the property sector, she is CIPD qualified and has specialised in HR for the last 10 years. She is responsible for:

  • HR across the group
  • Recruitment
  • Company compliance
  • Money laundering
  • Compensation and benefits
  • Training and development
  • Joint responsibility for payroll

 

 


 


Graeme Wadhams
Marketing Manager

Graeme joined the company in 2007 as a Graphic Designer and progressed to lead our in-house Marketing Department. He is responsible for the delivery of the company’s marketing/communication strategy and development of the brand. Graeme is responsible for:

  • Brand management and development
  • Digital marketing and social media
  • PR and advertising
  • Design and print
  • Website management, SEO and content marketing
  • Community sponsorship

 

  


 


Helen Blair
Financial Controller

Helen is a Chartered Management Accountant (CGMA) and joined the company in 2017 as Financial Controller. Her main responsibilities are:

  • Group finance
  • Treasury
  • Payroll
  • Fleet
  • Insurance
  • Audit

 

 


 


Andy Childs
IT Manager

Andy joined the company as IT Manager in 2016 having spent 10 years working in various IT roles in the veterinary industry. His vast knowledge of technology ensures the smooth running of the company’s IT infrastructure, allowing the sales and lettings branches to concentrate on helping their clients. Andy is responsible for:

  • IT and communication system management
  • Network and security
  • Management of technology partnerships
